YouNow is created for the everyday individual who seeks to gain a deeper understanding of Self in order to achieve their highest potential, while staying true to their essence. These write-ups are designed to help you become more conscious and deliberate in your interactions and day-to-day living
This journey called life is as real as it is complex.
Complicated not in itself, but by our individual expressions and experiences of it.
As human beings, we actually require and demand the same things of life: Acceptance, Love and Friendship, Physiological needs, Safety and Security, Social belonging, Esteem, Self-actualization.

We are more similar than we allow ourselves to be.
Our differences come at the moment of birth; when that baby goes through the birth canal on the journey to the ‘other side’

-The cultural side
-The religious side
-The sexual side
‘The other side’

At birth, our influences –
(Social belonging, beliefs and traditions, even idiosyncrasies, whims and caprices) are introduced.
We do not get to choose who or where we come to the earth through.
Beats my imagination each time I try to wrap my mind around it!

You see, my journey is different from yours.
Even in that difference however, we are all part of a whole.

In my difference, I am supposed to allow your difference, even when I differ.
We are indeed like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets it’s meaning from the body as a whole. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of the body. A body isn’t just a single part blown up into something huge. It’s all the different-but-similar parts arranged and functioning together.

If the Ear says “I’m not beautiful like the Eye, clear and expressive; I don’t deserve a place on the head,”
Would you want to remove it from the body?

If the body was all eyes, how could it hear? If all ear, how could it smell?
So since we find ourselves shaped into all these functioning parts, shouldn’t we just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we are not!
We must lift ourselves out of our group-existence: out of the prejudices we receive from our family, nation, ethnic group and religion and all that we inherit from the past that limits our creative and imaginative capacity to meet the world directly.
Equality should be an equal opportunity or freedom to be different.
Our equality lies not in our sameness but in the interaction of similarity and difference.
We do not necessarily have to agree; not by ideals or motivations, not by religion or belief but by difference.
….We are One
