OnePort 365: We’ll promote cross-border trade with tech solutions

OnePort 365, a digital freight management startup, says it will continue to use digital solutions to ease trade processes and solve port challenges for importers and exporters.

Founded in 2019, OnePort 365 prides itself in the seamless delivery of containerised cargo and other freight management services for its customers.

Hio Sola-Usidame, co-founder of OnePort 365, stated this at a recent media parley in Lagos.

He said challenges abound when dealing with import and export of goods in the country.

Some of the challenges, the company said include theft or containers lost in transit, vandalisation, especially when handling perishable commodities like food items.

Sola-Usidame said OnePort 365 was established to solve those challenges and containerised freight processes in a simple, orderly and efficient format for its clients.

“Our purpose is to usher in a radical change that enhances Africa’s participation in global trade with a complete systemic transformation,” he said.

“We have developed a freight management platform that integrates your containerised freight processes in a simple, orderly and efficient format. Our solutions are optimised for ease, powered by technology and built for Africa.”

Dolapo Fasina, marketing and communications manager, said the startup also helps African SME traders solve the complexities in shipping consignment.

“Our SME clients are from various industries, including agro-allied and agribusiness, solid minerals, recycling and manufacturing. The platform is very SME friendly, and 60 percent of our clients are SMEs,” Fasina said.

“It is for the SME who necessarily does not have the time or investment required to put together a technical or efficient freight team. OnePort 365 team is here to be that team and solve these complexities associated with the industry.

“We have been in this industry for years and have a strong team of professional freight forwarders, licensed customs brokers, and extensive experience with container shipment processes, locally or internationally.”

Checks by TheCable show that OnePort 365 provides client’s freight processing needs using a personalised shipment dashboard – for traders to track and monitor their shipments locally and globally.

On price mechanism, the co-founder said the company is scaling on technology which improves the system and makes it cheaper.

“I can say we are highly competitive. We are very much aware of the rate and are cheaper than the traditional freight forwarder.”

In June, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director-general of the World Trade Organization (WTO), advised African leaders to solve health crises and revive the service sectors — such as logistics and tourism.

She advocated for lower trade costs by improving internet infrastructure to boost e-commerce and develop infrastructures in ports and roads.
