Oritse Femi wants to kill us, says ex-manager’s mother

After changing his manager, the drama between Oritse Femi, self-acclaimed musical Taliban, and Yusuf Adepitan his former manager popularly known as Danku, seems to be unending.

Funmilayo Adepitan, Adepitan’s mother, has now referred to the musician as a liar and an ingrate.

“I want to appeal to all Nigerians to save us from Oritse Femi because he wants to kill us,” she told NET in an interview.

“When my son brought him to me and told me about him, the first day I saw him, my mind told me to tell my son to be careful. Oritsefemi is ungrateful, because my son was the one that helped him get the Avatar deal.”

The 31-year-old musician who announced his new manager in May 2015 had earlier filed a police petition against Adepitan, claiming that the latter could not account for the money earned from shows and endorsement deals.

Born Oritse Femi Majemite Ekele, the Ajegunle-born musician had told Punch in January that the former manager had taken off with his car and money.

“I knew him after I released my song, Double Wahala. It is a blatant lie for him to say he promoted the hit song,” he said.

“He now manages an artiste, Rayce, and he put my logo on the guy’s work after I warned him not to do so. Because of that, I will let the law decide who is wrong between us.

“Why will he leave my house with my car and money? He has been lying about me and I would sue him for defamation of character. How would someone whom I do not know from Adam say he picked me up from Ajegunle?”

Denying claims that Oritse Femi gave her money for her business, Adepitan said: “I have been doing my sand business since 2008, I only met Oritse Femi in 2014 so how can he say that.”

“There was a time Danku brought him to me when they wanted to shoot the video for Sexy Ladies with Davido, I gave him N1.2m cash till date; he has not returned the money.

“I am a landlady with two houses in Lagos so he can’t even compare me with his mum.”

Threatening legal action against Danku, the Double Wahala crooner said: “I am going to sue Danku, his artiste, Rayce, and one HD who shot the video because they used my logo without my permission.

“I will arrest Danku and his mother as well and all the money I spent on him would be recouped. If they don’t arrest him, I will impound the boats because I was the one that bought them.”

The musician who began his career actively in 2006 is best known for his remake of Fela’s Double Wahala and the song has won him six awards.
