Ovie Omo-Agege, a senator from Delta state, stormed the national assembly with suspected thugs who seized the mace on Wednesday morning.
As expected, Nigerians commented on the development on various social media platforms.
Here are some reactions on Twitter:

The tragic thing about the seizure of the mace from the Nigerian Senate is that it won’t make for major international news.
AdvertisementWhy?
Because we’ve too many overgrown children here just playing ‘democracy & governance’, & the international community knows it.

Nigerian Senate suspended Sen.Ovie Omo-Agege because he opposed the electoral amendment bill. He came back today with thugs and took away the mace from the national assembly.
The part I don’t get is how did he get out of NASS without security officials noticing it.

In the Nigerian Senate, a member can be suspended for saying Adegun when everyone else said Adeogun. True or False?
