Nigeria women’s national heptathlon record-holder, Uhunoma Naomi Osazuwa, is on course to break her record at the IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China.
Osazuwa, who set the Nigerian record with a points total of 6,106 at the 2015 All Nigeria Championships in Warri in July, is currently placed 22nd on the performance table after four events with 3,623 points.
She scored 1,014 points (13.75 secs) in 100m hurdles; 1,016 points (1.83 metres) in the High Jump; 647 points (11.79 metres) in the Shot Put; and concluded for the day with 946 points (24.36 secs) in the 200m.
The women’s heptathlon event continues on Sunday with the long jump and javelin throw in the morning session and concluded with the 800m during the afternoon session.

Despite the setback from her weak javelin performance, a strong showing on Sunday would still edge her over the record and a lifetime best in the event.
