The office of the secretary to the government of the federation (OSGF) has distanced itself from allegations of corruption involving Andrew Torhile Uchi, the personal assistant to George Akume, the SGF.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is investigating Uchi for alleged corruption, bribery, and money laundering.
In a statement issued on Monday, the OSGF clarified that it was not implicated in the alleged misconduct and reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity.
“We recognise the efforts of the EFCC on this matter to ensure that those found culpable are held accountable,” reads the statement signed by Segun Imohiosen, director of information and public relations in the office of the SGF.

“However, we urge the public not to speculate or draw conclusions as investigations are still ongoing.
“The OSGF appreciates the understanding and support of the public on this matter.”
