Oshaniwa: South Africa game ‘a win or nothing for us’

Super Eagles defender Juwon Oshaniwa says the team is condemned to beating South Africa on Wednesday – a win that will guarantee qualification for 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

According to the MS Ashdod of Israel left back who started Saturday’s game against Congo ahead of Elderson Echiejile, the 2-0 win in Pointe Noire is not enough until the Eagles triumph over Bafana Bafana as well.

“We must understand that we cannot drop any points, not even a draw. We must win against South Africa and qualify to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians. It is a win or nothing for us and we understand how important it is for us and we must get that win,” he told SL10.ng.

“We must beat South Africa and everybody knows that. Thank God we beat Congo so now we must go ahead and beat South Africa so that our place at the next AFCON will be guaranteed.”
