Oshiomhole fires 4 commissioners

Adams Oshiomhole, governor of Edo state, has relived four of his commissioners of their appointments.

Kassim Afegbua, special adviser to the governor on media and public affairs, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.

Afegbua said the decision “is in line with government’s commitment to strengthen the system towards optimal performance”.

Those affected by the exercise are: Lucky James, ministry of local government and chieftiancy affairs; Maigida Blessing, ministry of women affairs; Patrick Aguinede, ministry of basic education; and Chris Ebare, ministry of energy and water resources.

The statement directed then to hand over all government property in their possession to the permanent secretaries in their respective ministries.

Afegbua quoted Oshiomhole as thanking the former commissioners for their services to the state and wishing them well in their future endeavours.
