Victor Osimhen, Super Eagles forward, who fell and injured his shoulder during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier game against Sierra Leone, is in stable condition, a source told TheCable.
The 21-year-old was stretchered off in the 72nd minute of play after colliding with a Sierra Leonian defender in the 18-yard box on Friday at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin city.
One of the backroom staff of the team told TheCable that the injury sustained by the Napoli player was not as bad as initially envisaged.
“He is in good condition and he is fine,” the backroom staff told TheCable.

“It was not a fracture or dislocation. He only pulled the shoulder and he is back in the hotel right now resting. He landed wrongly on the shoulder and it’s been attended to. He is stable and resting.”
The source also said that Osimhen will be taken to the orthopedic on Saturday for further checks on the injured shoulder.
“He is back in the hotel like I said earlier but will see orthopedics today for further checks,” the source said.

It remains uncertain if the young striker will be part of the team for Tuesday’s reverse fixture at Freetown, capital of Sierra Leone.
The Gernot Rohr’s team, who were leading the Leone Stars 4-0 in the first 30 minutes, threw away the four-goal lead to draw at full time.
