Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman will lead the Super Eagles attack against the Benin Republic in their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifying match at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny, Cote d’Ivoire, on Thursday.
Osimhen will return to the Eagles’ starting line-up after missing the previous international break due to injury. He will lead the attacking line for Nigeria alongside Lookman, who has been impeccable for Atalanta over the past few months.
Kelechi Iheanacho completes the front three named by Augustine Eguavoen, the Eagles’ interim coach, as Victor Boniface starts from the bench.
Gabriel Osho comes in for the injured Semi Ajayi. He makes his first start for Nigeria at the heart of a three-man defence with William Troost-Ekong and Calvin Bassey.

Ola Aina and Bruno Onyemaechi keep their spots as the right and left wingbacks, respectively.
Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi will do the heavy lifting in the midfield during the match, which is scheduled to kick off by 8 pm.
The Super Eagles are at the top of Group D, with 10 points, and at least a draw from the game will be enough to get the team a spot at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
