It was another exciting weekend across the globe as club football continued in Europe after a short international break.
With quite a number of top performances over the weekend, TheCable selects the best Nigerian XI.
Sebastian Osigwe [Lugano]
Osigwe was a brick wall and it was almost impossible to get past the goalkeeper’s door. He also made several key saves but could not prevent Vaduz from scoring from the spot. Fantastic.

Kingsley Ehizibue [Koln]
He was a constant problem down the right, putting in several dangerous crosses while having two attempts on goal. Ehizibue eventually produced a well placed assist for Koln’s equaliser against Eintracht Frankfurt. Accelerando.
Tosin Adarabioyo [Fulham]

The central defender showed his class with crucial sliding tackles and brilliant forays. He set the scene throughout the game with his high-energy approach. Counterpoint.
William Troost-Ekong [Watford]
He may not be the most stylish defender, but Troost-Ekong kept Wayne Rooney at bay before he was substituted due to injury. Polyphonic.
Zaidu Sanusi [FC Porto]

Like a female gondolier his goals are hard to come by, but he provided an assist in the thriller at Sporting CP. Forte.
John Obi Mikel [Stoke City]
The former Super Eagles captain put in a strong defensive shift and was also active at the middle of the park. Energetic.
Moses Simon [Nantes]

The winger directed the traffic just one way and worked overtime supplying the forwards. He also provided an assist and was a complete nuisance down the flank. Reliable.

Ejuke tested the Dinamo Moscow keeper on several occasions and eventually scored. He also brought substance and a certain swagger while both defending and attacking with real zeal. Brilliant.

Another virtuoso performance from Altach’s conductor, who calmly scored a brace against Seekirchen. Capriccio.
Victor Osimhen [Napoli]
He troubled Atalanta on several occasions and like a Cheetah slipped past the Atalanta defence with disconcerting ease. His hard work finally paid off after he sprung past his marker to hammer in a sensational drive. Wonderful.
