Victor Osimhen, Super Eagles forward, has been voted Lille’s player of the season after his impressive performance for the French club.
The club took to its official website to announce the winner and runner-ups on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old Nigerian international beat Benjamin André and Renato Sanches, who took the second and third spots respectively.
“The people of Lille mobilized, voted and elected them. Victor Osimhen is the Mastiff of the season by Boulanger!,” the French side wrote.

Fans of the club were earlier asked to vote for their best player of the season among the pool of registered players.
Osimhen won the coveted prize after scoring 18 goals with six assists in 31 appearances across all competitions in the 2019/20 Ligue 1 season, before the French government cancelled sporting events due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Since joining Lille from Sporting Charleroi, a Belgian Pro League club, last summer, the Nigerian international has attracted interests from the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham, AC Milan and Napoli.
Ariyo Igbayilola, the player’s agent, had last week told TheCable that he gave Jose Mourinho, Spurs coach, one condition if he’s willing to sign his client.

“We told Mourinho that if he wants Victor, will Harry Kane be leaving?,” he had asked.
“If Harry Kane is still play for Tottenham will Victor play? Because he will always be benched for him.”
