Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has expressed hope that President Muhammadu Buhari will complete his tenure in good health.
The tenure of the president ends in May 2019.
There has been speculation that Buhari’s health is deteriorating. Some reports even say the president, who has been in the UK for medical treatment since May 7, has speech impairment.
But on Sunday, an audio of the president’s message to Nigerians on Eid-el-Fitr, was released, apparently to debunk the reports.

Speaking with a delegation of Muslims in the federal capital territory (FCT), who paid him a visit during Salah, Osinbajo said the president would return to the country in good health.
“We are praying every day, and we know that the Lord, God Almighty, who we serve, will bring our president back in good health, and that he will serve this nation with the same determination and the same spirit of oneness; the same spirit that he has always served this nation from when he was a young man,” he said.
“He will serve this nation and complete the period of his service in good health, in good shape and our country will be the better for it.”
