Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo returned to Abuja on Thursday night, after participating in this year’s World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Laolu Akande, senior special assistant on media and publicity to the vice-president, confirmed this development in a statement issued on Friday.
He said Osinbajo would be heading to Ibadan, Oyo state capital, for official engagements.
“Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo back in Abuja, last night, heads to Ibadan this morning for some engagements and expected back in the office,” the statement read.

On Thursday President Muhammadu Buhari left for the United Kingdom, where he will undergo a medical checkup.
In a statement issued before his departure, Femi Adesina, Buhari’s spokesman, said “the vice-president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, will perform the functions of the Office of the President”.

The statement said Buhari would resume work on February 6.
