Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo will represent President Muhammadu Buhari at the extraordinary ECOWAS summit taking place in Niamey, Niger Republic, on Friday.
Laolu Akande, senior special assistant on media to the vice-president, said this in a statement.
Akande said other ECOWAS heads of state and government will be at the summit which is being held to address the political crisis in Guinea Bissau.
“The Vice-President will depart Abuja this morning and return later today,” he said.

Buhari is currently in the UK on a private visit. He did not hand over power to Osinbajo before his departure.
The presidency defended his decision, saying he did not break any law by not asking the vice-president to act on his behalf.
