Hyacinth Eze, managing director, Aeronautical Engineering and Technical Services Limited – the company handling the MKO Abiola International Airport in Osun state – says the project will become operational in eight months time.
Eze said this when he led a team of engineers to Rauf Aregbesola, governor of the state, in Osogbo, the state capital, on Wednesday.
He attributed the delay to “a little hitch”, which had been resolved, assuring that work will be fast on the project in order to meet the eight-month target.
“Our company has two on-going projects in the state, one, which is the most important of the projects is the MKO Abiola International Airport,” he said.

“It is a project that we started and we have little hitch along the line but today, I am happy to inform you that this project is being revived.”
According to Eze, when completed, the airport will be a cargo and aircraft maintenance hub.
