Osun ‘free train’ takes off from Lagos Saturday morning

The Osun state government says its annual Christmas and new year free train ride will be out this year to convey holidaymakers from Lagos to the state by 10am on Saturday.

Since 2011, the government has been organising free rides for its people in Lagos during festive period.

According to a statement, the free train ride is in line with the administration of Rauf Aregbesola, the state governor’s yearly practice of facilitating convenient movement of its citizens in and out of the state during festive seasons.

“The train would, by 10am on Saturday the 23rd of December 2016, convey people from Lagos to Osogbo. The return journey to Lagos from Osogbo will be Tuesday the 26th of December by 10am,” a statement by Adekunle Jayeoba-Alagbada, a commissioner, read.

“The train will also resume from Lagos to Osogbo for the New year celebration at 10am. Saturday, December 30th 2017and return to Lagos on Tuesday 2nd of January 2018.”
