Osun guber: I’m confident of victory, says Oyetola

Gboyega Oyetola, governor of Osun, says he is sure of securing a second term.

Oyetola spoke on Wednesday during a “strategic tour” of Modakeke, Ife central, and other areas of the state.

The governor, who had purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form on Tuesday, said he is optimistic about victory in the election scheduled for July 16.

“We are not afraid and we are confident that we will win the party’s primary as well as the gubernatorial election,” Oyetola said.

“We don’t know the system they will bring. Whether direct or indirect, we are ready.”

The governor also promised that his administration would complete all major projects being carried out in the state before the end of his first term.

Oyetola, who promised not to disappoint the people of Ile-Ife, said projects embarked upon would not be abandoned.

“I don’t make promises without fulfilling them,” he said.

“I have been hearing about Famia road since the time I was the chief of staff and I thank God that we have finished it now.

“We are set to begin another one. Your votes brought me in. I must show appreciation.

“We cannot play with the cradle of Yorubas, because it’s the origin of all. So, all the projects embarked on would surely be completed before the end of my first term by God’s grace.”

According to NAN, the governor also appealed to members of the party who were not given any political appointment to be patient with him.

“I want to appeal to you on the sharing of political posts. Let us be patient. It will go round,” he said.

“If we are reelected, those that did not get in the first term will surely get in the second term. Let us know that we can only demand for posts when we are in government.”
