Osun NUJ to induct Olowu of Kuta into hall of fame

The Osun state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) is set to induct Adekunle Makama Oyelude, Olowu of Kuta, into the association’s Hall of fame.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by Wasiu Ajadosu, chairman of the chapter, and Bukola Elufadejin, the secretary, the event will hold on Friday at the palace of the traditional ruler as part of activities to mark 2022 press week.

According to the association, the induction of the respected traditional ruler in the state into the NUJ Hall of Fame is as a result of his contributions to national issues and his support for the Nigerian military as well as the media.

Makama will join other eminent personalities such as Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former governor of Osun state, and Yemi Farounbi, a former Nigerian ambassador to the Republic of Philippines, in the NUJ Hall of Fame, Osun state chapter.

The union urged its members to converge at the press centre by 12.30pm in the afternoon for onward movement to Owu Kuta.

In September, President Muhammadu Buhari commended the Olowu of Kuta on his 10th coronation anniversary for his service to his people and the country.
