Mudashir Husain, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Osun west senatorial by-election, says he hopes to build on his “good” works as a former senator in the state.
According to a statement issued by Kamil Opeyemi, his spokesman, the ex-lawmaker said this during his party’s campaign on Wednesday.
He was quoted to have said his mission to return to the senate is also hinged on the need to sustain “the good legacies which his party had laid over the years.”
While pointing out that he is not a political novice, he told the people he will represent them “diligently.”

“Our people have opened doors of victory for us. They have sustained their loyalty in our party. They have demonstrated huge support in all ramifications,” he reportedly said.
“We have seen these gestures in their disposition and warm reception at all times will have the course to meet them.
“I was in the senate between 2011 and 2015 before I was asked to pave way for the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke who held the position since then till his death.

“You all know that I am well-known in politics. I am not a political novice and I have the wherewithal to return to the senate.
“When I was there as your senator, you all knew what I did. I am ready to build on these good works. I will represent you all diligently and ensure that nothing but your interests take prominence in all circumstances.”
The statement listed dignitaries that attended the campaign to include members of the federal house of representatives, Najeem Salam, speaker of the state house of assembly and the assembly members.
Others include members of the state executive council as well as local government chairmen.
