Femi Otedola, chairman of Forte Oil, says he is not interested in running for the office of Lagos state governor in 2019.
In tweets on his Twitter page, the billionaire said Akinwumi Ambode, Lagos state governor, is doing well and should be praised for it.
“My attention has been drawn to a news piece where false information from a parody account was posted,” he wrote on Friday.
“I am a man of the people and I will always be on the side of the masses but I am stating clearly via this medium that I am not running for office.

“The governor of Lagos state is doing a commendable job and Lagosians should be proud of him.

“Fake accounts in my name have to have the word “parody” in their bio/profile to exist. @verified has recently paused verifications so, until I get the blue tick, please always ensure to read the bio/profile section of accounts that appear to be mine.”
The rumours began to spread a day after the Forte Oil boss shared a video of him taking Molue from Sango to Agege.
Otedola, who is the son of Micheal Otedola, former governor of Lagos state who died in 2014, recently joined Instagram and Twitter.
