Another game week full of surprises. Rivers United, MFM FC were held to a draw, while Warri Wolves and Kwara United succumbed to defeats in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).

A great week for Abia Warriors and Adamawa United fans as their teams got important wins. Here are the top performers who made TheCable’s NPFL team of the week.

Ibrahim Pius (Wikki Tourists) – Goalkeeper

The Wikki Tourists goalkeeper was instrumental in their draw at Rivers United. He was completely flawless.

Dare Ojo (Akwa United) – Central Midfield

Omaka is improving from strength to strength. The best Sunshine Stars player of the week. Hardworking, committed and passionate – he carried Kabiru Dogo’s team right from defence to attack. He registered a brace. Hard to imagine a Sunshine Stars team without Omaka.

Magical! The Nigerian international was too much for the Heartland defence to handle. Lightning pace, skilful, agile and beautiful to watch, Ndifreke notched up a brace.

Okon Otop (Abia Warriors) – Forward

Amidst many weeks of being unsettled at Warri Wolves, the Abia Warriors man came back strong yet again with his former team feeling the heat. He delivered the winner.

Kennedy Boboye (Akwa United) – Manager

Yet again, Boboye proves a point. An excellent manager who brings something out of nothing for the Promise Keepers.
