Otu declares 14-day Christmas holiday in Cross River

Bassey Otu, governor of Cross River, has announced 14 days extended Christmas holiday for all civil servants in the state.

NAN reports that the holiday will commence on December 20 and end on January 2, 2024.

In a statement on Wednesday, Emmanuel Ogbeche, chief press secretary to the governor, said only essential workers are exempted.

Otu appreciated workers for their commitment and hard work in the course of the year.

The governor encouraged workers to use the opportunity to spend quality time with their families. He also implored them to be actively involved in the annual Calabar carnival.

He emphasised his administration’s commitment to providing quality and conducive environment for all citizens and residents of the state, while wishing them a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.
