‘Our leaders failed to recongise you but God is lifting you up’ — reactions to Okonjo-Iweala’s Twitter appointment

On Thursday, Omid Kordestani, executive chairman of Twitter, announced that Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a former minister of finance, has been appointed to the board of directors of the micro blogging site.

The two-time finance minister was appointed alongside Robert Zoellick, chairman, board of directors of AllianceBernstein Holding, a global investment management firm.

“Pleased to welcome @NOIweala and @authorzoellick to the @twitter Board!,” Kordestani tweeted.

Known for active participation on social media, Nigerians have been commenting on the Okonjo-Iweala’s appointment.
