Biodun Oyebanji, governor of Ekiti, has approved the introduction of social inclusion opportunities for political appointees at state and LG levels.
In a circular signed by A.V. Adeleye for the head of service (HoS) on November 20, Oyebanji offered a 10-minute Facebook sign language training session for all civil servants and political appointees in the state.
The training will hold between December 1, 2023 and January 31, 2024, on alternate days — Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, excluding public holidays of December 25, 26, 2023 and January 1, 2024 — from 12 pm to 12:10 pm each day.
The governor also asked the accounting officers to make sure that staff of all ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) participate in the training.

“All MDAs will be required to send a 58-second video recording demonstrating what they have learnt and how they have used the sign language to improve social inclusion and communication,” the statement reads.
“All civil servants at their respective MDAs are expected to sign in on the Facebook page of EKSG special education and social inclusion.
“They are also to indicate their MDAs by using abbreviations like: OTSD, MOH, or MOE etc.
