Biodun Oyebanji, Ekiti governor, has urged the people of the state to embrace and care for People living With Disabilities (PWDs).
He made the call on Tuesday during a town hall meeting with stakeholders ahead of the 2024 budget preparation.
He told the traditional rulers, local government chairmen, among others to assist PWDs as much as they can.
Oyebanji asked them to help his government by lending support to PWDs with anything within their capacities.

The governor said this after Olajide Funso, the general secretary of Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD) in the state and the executive director, Disability Not A Barrier Initiative (DINABI), thanked him for all he has done for PWDs.
Funso listed some of the benefits from the governor to include employment of sign language interpreters, donation of buses to special schools in the state and appointment of a special adviser on special school and social inclusion.
He also made reference to governor Oyebanji’s last birthday and announced that any gift meant for the governor be converted to cash and handed to all special schools in the state.
