Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo, has asked workers above level 13 in the civil service to resume work on Monday.
At a press briefing on Saturday, the governor said those asked to resume have separate offices. He said all meetings would be done online.
The governor listed measures to curb the spread of coronavirus as ban on unnecessary visits, provision of hand washing facilities, as well as posting of notices and banners containing the guidelines around the secretariat.
“The State Secretariat will be reopened on Monday April 27th 2020. Only civil servants at level 13 and above with separate offices will resume,” he said.

On the dusk-to-dawn curfew in the state, which took effect on March 29, 2020, Makinde said it would be relaxed from 7 pm to 6 am, to 7 pm to 5 am, in order to accommodate farmers for the planting season.
“The farmers are being sensitised on how they can stay safe as they farm during this period,” he added.
“COVID-19 compliant guidelines will be provided for markets, including hand washing facilities at strategic places and wearing of face masks. Only markets which meet up with these guidelines will be allowed to reopen.”

He commended the federal ministry of health for decentralising the accreditation of isolation centres to the state level, and said the chief medical director of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, will work with the commissioner for health in the state to set up a five-person accreditation team for that purpose.
