Oyo to recruit 100 caregivers for special schools

Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo, has approved the recruitment of 100 caregivers into special schools in the state.

The governor has also greenlit the recruitment of 7,000 teachers into public primary schools.

Nureni Adeniran, chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), disclosed this during a press briefing in Ibadan.

Adeniran said the recruitment details will soon be made public.

“I am coming out on behalf of the state government to say that approval has finally been given and we have already commenced preliminary work on the modalities of the recruitment exercise which will also be made public at the appropriate time,” he said.

“The essence of this press briefing is to warn the intending applicants to be wary of scammers and to let them know that Oyo state government has not appointed anyone to serve as agent or proxy in this recruitment exercise.

“Hence, this is to say that the exercise will be free and fair as well as conducted in a credible manner and any information regarding this will be emanating from our office under the supervision of the chairman of the board.”

He also implored the public to approach his office should they have questions or concerns.

Asked on consideration for persons with disabilities (PWDs) during the recruitment, Adeniran said “there will be no discrimination whatsoever”.

“They are going to benefit from the recruitment exercise as special attention will be given to people with autism too,” he added.
