Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo, says his administration will review the operations of the park management system in the state.

The park management system (PMS) was introduced by the state after the operations of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) was banned in May 2019.

On Wednesday, two people died when crisis broke out among transport workers in Iwo road area of Ibadan, the Oyo capital.

TheCable had reported that one of the victims of the clash — said to have involved members of the proscribed NURTW and the PMS — was a businessman in the area.

Makinde, who visited the scene of the incident on Thursday, said the state will ensure that the perpetrators behind the violence are brought to justice.

“The loss of lives during the mayhem that occurred is unfortunate and should never have happened. I give you my word that we will ensure that everyone involved in the dastardly act is brought to book,” he said

“I have ordered investigations. In the meantime, we will sanitise the area behind Iwo road where cultists congregate and review the Park Management System.
