Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako and his deputy, Mr. Bala Ngilari failed to appear at the federal secretariat, Yola, venue of the panel investigating the allegations of gross misconduct levelled against them by the house of assembly.
The panel, which commenced sitting on Friday, had to adjourn to Saturday to enable the governor defend himself against the 22 exhibits tendered against him and the six against his deputy.
Mr Duro Ajeleye (SAN), counsel to the assembly led Mr. Wafarninyi Theman, who is chairman of the standing committee on public accounts, to give evidence against Nyako and Ngilari.
The house of assembly was represented by the deputy speaker, Mr Kwamoti Laori.

Speaking at the conference room of the federal secretariat, venue of the panel, Malam Buba Kaigama, the chairman, apologised for the one-week delay in the commencement of sitting, attributing it to problems associated with securing a venue.
Kaigama said the panel would be fair and just to all parties involved.
