Residents of Ogolonto and Ipakodo in the Ikorodu area of Lagos are currently in a state of panic as a result of heavy shooting by an armed robbery gang that invaded some banks in the area.
Ayodele Benedict, who resides at Majidun, a few metres from the robbery scenes, told TheCable that the shootings had been on for about 45 minutes.
“There is so much confusion here right now; I can’t even leave the house as a result of the heavy shooting going on,” he said.
The police confirmed the incident through its Twitter handle @policeNG, advising people to stay away from the area but later said the situation has been brought under control.
