The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) is collaborating with the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) to enhance its peace and security initiatives in the Niger Delta.
Dennis Otuaro, the PAP administrator, made this request during a courtesy visit to Adamu Laka, the NCTC national coordinator, on Friday in Abuja.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Igoniko Oduma, Otuaro’s special assistant on media, he emphasised that this collaboration will bolster the ongoing peace process in the Niger Delta.
Otuaro expressed his administration’s eagerness to work with the NCTC, which operates under the office of the national security adviser (ONSA), to improve security in the region.

He highlighted that a stable Niger Delta would enhance Nigeria’s oil production, support the country’s economy and align with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.
“We want to work with you. This visit is aimed at seeking support and partnership with the NCTC under the ONSA structure to make the Niger Delta a very safe place, and to continue to see that oil production increases for the benefit of the country,” he said.
“We are also determined to use the opportunities available for the PAP Office to ensure that vulnerable Niger Deltans and impacted communities are touched positively.”

Otuaro noted that PAP remains committed to supporting the president and his administration in securing the future of the country.
He also commended the NCTC for its “successful efforts” in addressing security challenges nationwide.
In response, Laka assured that the centre is working tirelessly for the peace and security of the nation.
Laka expressed gratitude to the PAP administrator for seeking this partnership and praised his commitment to ensuring the stability of the Niger Delta region.
