The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says power supply to parts of Nasarawa state will be disrupted for six hours on Saturday, over scheduled maintenance.
In a statement on Friday, the TCN said the maintenance exercise will be carried out on its 40 megavolt-amperes (MVA) transformer at the Akwanga transmission substation.
Consequently, the company said the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) would be unable to offtake power from the transformer to Akwanga Town, Wamba, Gudi, Garaku, Nasarawa Eggon, and its environs in the state.
“The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) hereby states that its maintenance crew will carry out a planned annual preventive maintenance on its 40MVA Transformer at Akwanga Transmission Substation on Saturday, 22nd June, 2024 between the hours of 9:30am and 4:30pm,” the statement reads.

TCN said power supply will be restored immediately after the maintenance is completed by 4.30 pm on June 22.
On June 4, the TCN completed the rehabilitation and restringing of the four vandalised towers along the Jos-Gombe 330 kilovolt (KV) transmission line supplying bulk power to substations in the north-east.
