“Safety is our utmost priority, and we are committed to implementing any necessary recommendations to enhance fire prevention measures throughout the Lagos waterways.”

In November 2023, a commercial boat caught fire at the loading point in Ikorodu.

The fire outbreak was caused by an electrical spark during ignition as the captain and deckhand poured fuel in the engine.
