Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Skill Acquisition Programme offers grants to 100 youths in Lagos

Founder of Loveworld Inc, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has launched a Skill Acquisition Programme for youths in Ajegunle and environs in Lagos state.

The initiative started in 2020 with several test runs, but kicked off fully February 2023 with 500 enrolled students, and the 100 graduants given grants after the programme.

The graduation ceremony which held October 7, 2023, at the Marcana Football Field saw the successful completion of 100 students who had learnt crafts such as Fashion Designing, Make Up, Catering, Baking, Hair making, Shoe making, graphic designing, Carpentry, Barbing etc were given grants of 150,000 each.

Present at the graduation ceremony was Oyekunle Oluwa, king of Oluwa and Apapa kingdom, who thanked the pastor for the kind gesture extended towards capacity and entrepreneurship development in his community.

He also endorsed the community to read Rhapsody of Realities, a daily devotional by Pastor Chris, which is a tool for spiritual and mental capacity building.

Coordinator of the Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Skill Acquisition Program, Daniel Atima, encouraged the youths to aspire to greatness and be relevant to the society with the skills they had acquired at the program.

He added that besides their skill, they will require a dedication of their lives to Christ to see them elevate beyond the local impediments towards greatness as they can see in the of life of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, who graciously is making all these happen .

To further contribute positively to the lives and well being of the people, the agency also gave food palliatives to over 500 families present and donated Hospital Furniture to the Ajeromi Ifelodun Health Centre.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has been in the news for many charitable initiatives in different parts of the country and around the world. During the Covid Pandemic, his humanitarian arm, Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International delivered palliatives to thousands of families in Lagos, Benin, Port-Harcourt and different parts of the country. Also, over 6,000 pastors and ministries were aided by the agency, and in recent times, the foundation visited victims of the Earth Quake in Turkey and Syria twice this year, impacting over 20,000 Internally Displaced Persons.

The skill acquisition programme continues into the new year as over 250 students are set to graduate by Q1 2024.
