Ali Pate, coordinating minister of health and social welfare, says the federal government is set to release Nigeria’s inaugural state of health report.
Pate disclosed this on Thursday in Abuja, at a media conference on the forthcoming Health Sector Joint Annual Review (JAR).
He said the report is a culmination of various surveys and data, compiled by different departments and agencies under the ministry, to gauge public perception of the health system.
Pate said the report would provide a baseline for ongoing health sector reforms, enabling informed decision-making and targeted interventions.

The minister added that the document would be reviewed at the JAR scheduled for November 6-8.
“The JAR will bring together key stakeholders, including state governors, commissioners, and development partners, to discuss Nigeria’s healthcare sector progress,” NAN quoted Pate as saying.
“The assessment will focus on maternal and child health, access to primary healthcare, combating diseases: HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria.”

Pate said the JAR, coordinated through the Sector Wide Approach (SWAp), would foster dialogue among agencies, parastatals, development partners, and media in a bid to enhance accountability, track progress, and build a unified ‘One Health’ narrative.
