The primary election held at other senatorial district of the state witnessed the return of Ehiozuwa Agbonayima, a house of representative member representing Ikpoba-Okha and Egor federal constituency as candidates.
In 2014, Obahiagbon, a former chief of staff to Adams Oshiomole, then governor of the state, lost the senatorial ticket to Samson Osagie, a former minority whip of the house of representatives.
Obahiagbon is known for his ambiguous use of words.
