Paystack, African online payment firm, has launched Pay with Apple Pay — a new payment channel that lets users accept international payments quickly from millions of Apple Pay users — on its platform.

This development makes Paystack the first payment gateway to support Apple Pay in Nigeria.

Presently, Pay with Apple Pay is available only to Nigeria-based businesses that use Paystack.

Apple Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service by Apple. The service allows customers to authorise payments with Touch ID or Face ID, instead of manually filling long payment forms.

According to the company, businesses have long been able to accept international card payments with Paystack, but this integration allows Nigerian businesses to access millions of Apple Pay users in over 60 countries where Apple Pay is supported, including the USA, UK, and Canada.

The company said that with the new service, businesses would have improved success rates for international transactions, customers would also be able to checkout in seconds.

Paystack described the payment method as “fast, easy and secure”, and added that it would come at no extra cost to business users or customers.
