Victor Kwon, the national legal adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says the All Progressives Congress (APC) has a case to answer over the allegation of cloning voter cards.
Kwon alleged that APC is attempting to play on the intelligence of Nigerians, saying no amount of tricks employed by the party would prevent people from knowing the truth of the matter.
The Department of State Services (DSS) had raided the data centre of APC (pictured) on the suspicion that voter cards were being cloned there.
However, the opposition party denied the allegation and described the DSS as a shameless apologist of the PDP, calling for an investigation into the incident.

But Kwon maintained that APC is only trying to cover up the matter, advising that anyone found to be behind the act should be prosecuted.
“In posting series of lame denials, even when caught in the act and attempting to compare their crime to the American Watergate political scandal, the APC has clearly exposed its culpability and confirmed our stand regarding their criminal tendencies and penchant for deceit and lies,” he said.
“It is to say the least despicable that instead of apologising to Nigerians for this heinous crime, the APC leaders have resorted to lies and dirty tricks in an attempt to play the victim and blame the PDP for their self inflicted woes.

“In referring to Watergate scandal involving American President Richard Nixon and the bugging of Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters, the APC stood the truth on its head and tried to play on the intelligence of Nigerians by trying to politicise an obvious criminal act.
“They should hide their faces in shame for their desperation and disgraceful actions that have continued to stain the image of the country.”
Kwon appealed to DSS not give in to the “intimidation” of APC, urging timely investigation.
“The truth remains that the APC is now hysterical and feverish having been caught in the act. They have been exposed and no amount of antics by their leaders will remove their culpability that deserves the full weight of the law.”

“The questions APC must answer are: Is their attempt to hack into INEC’s data-base not criminal? What were the 31‘Ghana must go’ bags of INEC PVC specimen doing in their so-called data office in Lagos? We are indeed appalled at the extent the APC can go in their desperation for power for which they have now become notorious.
“We therefore urge our security agencies not to allow themselves to be intimidated by the APC, but hasten investigations into this crime. This is especially as we restate the fear by majority that the APC may have already started cloning ballot papers and other election documents in their quest to achieve political power by all means.”

How come PDP is the one now throwing light on the DSS invasion of APC. One would have expected the loud mouth of SSS to show Nigerians evidence of the cloning machine and produce cards from such machine instead of PDP. Is been how many days now?
Since APC has gone to the press to interpret DSS action for us then PDP too has a right to offer their own interpretation. Stop beefing.
