The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is taking disciplinary action against Femi Fani-Kayode, spokesman of President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign organisation, for mounting a “press war” against its national working committee (NWC).
In a letter addressed to the Osun state chairman of PDP by Wale Oladipo, national secretary of the party, the NWC directed that disciplinary action be meted out to Fani-Kayode through his ward.
“The NWC at its meeting held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, reviewed the press war mounted against the NWC by Femi Fani-Kayode,” the letter read.
“You are therefore requested to: Investigate the membership status of Fani-Kayode; if he is a registered and financial member, proper disciplinary actions should be meted against him through the ward for engaging in acts contrary to section 58 (1) (b) of the party constitution.

“If not a member, you are to reprimand him as an usurper. Furthermore all actions taken should be communicated to the national working committee.”
The PDP has been dealing with internal troubles since its dismal performance in the general election.
On Wednesday, Adamu Mu’azu, its national chairman, bowed out after numerous calls for his resignation, but the party says it is re-positioning itself to “bounce back” in the 2019 general election.

Fani-Kayode has been one of the vociferous critics of the Mu’azu-led NWC.

Don’t waste your time on the scoundrel. He will soon be on his way to Kirikiri or Kuje Prison for the alleged corruption and money laundering charges the EFCC slammed against him.
