The Supreme court on Thursday adjourned the hearing in the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A federal high court had declared Ali Modu Sheriff as the national chairman of the party.
This made the faction led by Ahmed Makarfi to challenge the decision of the lower court, but Sheriff requested the apex court to disqualify the other faction from appealing the previous judgment.
After hearing the motion, the court asked the counsels to submit written arguments before the next date of hearing.

The case was then adjourned till May 25, 2017, for further hearing.
The party has been locked in a leadership battle since 2015. In February, a federal high court in Port Harcourt endorsed the leadership of Sheriff, but Makarfi and some members of the PDP have refused to recognise him as national chairman.
