Ali Modu Sheriff, national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says he will not work with “recalcitrant and unrepentant party members”.
Speaking when a delegation of the Arewa Social Media Forum (ASMEFO) paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja on Thursday, Sheriff also said the party had “suffered” for its mistakes and the time had come to end the sufferings.
He said he would take the party’s campaign to all nooks and crannies of the country, adding that he would ensure the return of the PDP to the grassroots to ensure viability ahead of 2019 election.
“We have the mandate of the party members and leaders to re-position the party and we will not work with anyone who will create crisis or violence in the party, no matter their positions,” he said.

“The party has suffered enough for its mistakes, and members and indeed Nigerians are looking forward toward a re-positioned PDP.”
He said PDP lost the presidential election to the APC due to injustice and frustration of members by some leaders in the party.
The chairman promised to take the party’s campaign to all nooks and crannies of the country, with focus on the wards and grassroots to bring back aggrieved members.

Earlier, Yusuf Dingyadi, leader of the delegation, said youths from the northern part of the country had been neglected for long.
He said it was unacceptable that the social media, which was supposed to strengthen the lots of youths in the region, had become a tool to divide them.
