The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all the 16 chairmanship and 193 councillorship seats in Kwara state.
On Saturday, the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC) conducted elections in all the LGAs of the state.
Five political parties namely: All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party (PDP), Accord Party, and Allied Peoples Movement (APM), participated in the process.
Announcing the results in Ilorin on Sunday, Muhammad Baba-Okanla, KWSIEC chairman, said the APC won all the seats in the 16 LGAs and 193 wards of the state.

Baba-Okanla commended the political parties that participated in the process, adding that the election was violence-free.
“Our electoral officers from the field have filed their results and I’m pleased to share the outcomes with you,” he said.
“After meticulous collation and verification, the APC has emerged victorious in all categories. APC won all the 16 LGAs chairmanship positions and secured all 193 councillorship seats.”

On Saturday, Babatunde Mohammed, PDP chairman in Kwara, said the conduct of the LGA elections remains the worst in the history of the state.
The PDP chairman said KWSIEC did not prepare for the election, while alleging that some of the electoral officers are APC members.
