The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lifted its suspension on Bamanga Tukur, its former national chairman.
On December 4, 2014, PDP inflicted a one-month suspension on Tukur, after he went to court to challenge his removal as national chairman.
The national working committee of the party reasoned that it was unacceptable for Tukur to “institue a claim and counter claim in suit FHC/ABJ /821/2014; Gurin vs PDP & 3 others without first exploring and exhausting the party’s internal mechanism of redress and for attempting to stop the forthcoming national convention to nominate the party’s presidential candidate as well as regularise the position of the national chairman and other members of the national working committee”.
However, on Thursday, Adamu Mu’azu, the man who replaced Tukur as national chairman, announced at the party’s presidential rally in Yola, Adamawa state, that his predecessor had been recalled from suspension.

Meanwhile, PDP has described APC’s fixation on claims of plots to scuttle the 2015 general election as a clear confirmation that it is not ready for the polls.
According to Olisa Metuh, PDP spokesman, APC and its presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, were now frustrated that they could not present an alternative to President Goodluck Jonathan and as such had resorted to fabricating baseless stories in an attempt to heat up the polity and divert attention from their failure.
The party reassured Nigerians that it was ready for the elections, and urged Nigerians to turn out en masse to vote for it on February 14.

It also advised the APC to concede defeat, noting that its campaigns had already exposed its emptiness and lack of integrity to Nigerians.
