Former PDP presidential aspirant defects to APC

Stanley Osifo, a presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said the decision to defect was reached after “deep thought and consultation” with his followers.

“After deep thought and consultation with followers, I am officially announcing my movement from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress,” he said.

“If one has issues with the party, it has organs to resolve such issues and such issues should have been addressed by leaders of the party but they have not.

“Some people believed that there was some sort of settlement but that’s not true.”

Osifo had purchased interest form to participate in the presidential primaries of the PDP but said he was denied participation in the exercise despite having obtained the necessary documents.

According to Osifo, he has changed his mind about being in the PDP. He said he would enjoin his supporters to vote for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“If not for the shift in the elections, I would still have defected. Together with my supporters, I will give my unflinching support to the reelection of the incumbent president.

“I believe that the future is very bright for me in the APC.”

Speaking of his support base, Osifo said about 10 million Nigerians will move with him to the All Progressives Congress.
