Sule Lamido, a presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says he is still in the race to secure the party’s ticket for the 2019 election.
A former governor of Jigawa state, Lamido said this while reacting to report that he and two other aspirants had pulled out of the race.
“We are in the race to win in sha Allah. Issue of withdrawing does not arise. It is those who are afraid of contest that are behind such reports,” he said in a statement issued on his behalf by Mansur Ahmed, his personal assistant on ne media.
“We urge all our teeming supporters to disregard the misinformation.”

Lamido is among the 12 aspirants of the opposition party who are due for a contest in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers state on Saturday.
The convention would hold at the Adokiye Amasiemaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
The aspirants are former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar; Senate President Bukola Saraki; Ibrahim Dankwambo,governor of Gombe; Rabiu Kwankwaso, former Kano state governor; Aminu Tambuwal, Sokoto state governor; and Ahmed Makarfi, former Kaduna state governor.

Others are Jonah Jang, former Plateau state governor; former Senate President David Mark; Atahiru Bafarawa, ex-Sokoto governor; Tanimu Turaki, a former minister under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan; Datti Baba-Ahmed; and Stanley Osifo.
