The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has pledged its support to President Muhammadu Buhari in the fight against insurgency in the country.
Uche Secondus, PDP acting national chairman, also condemned the resurgence of bomb attacks (one pictured), particularly Thursday’s killing of 145 Nigerians in Borno state on Thursday.
In a statement by Olisa Metuh, its spokesman, on Friday, PDP expressed “extreme grief” with the killings, saying they could not be justified under any guise.
It also called on Nigerians to present a common front against insurgency.

“Indeed, the time has come for all Nigerians, irrespective of ethnic, religious and political affiliations to be in one accord in the fight against terrorism in our dear country,” the party said.
“In this challenge, the PDP stands with President Muhammadu Buhari and the nation on any measure adopted by the federal government aimed at ending this in this ugly experience. We may not be on the same page on some policy issues but not when it comes to matters that directly affect the security of our citizens and our stability as a nation.”
While calling on those behind the insurgency to embrace peace and end the senseless bloodshed, the party commiserated with the government of Borno state and families of the victims, and prayed for fortitude to bear the loss.

It also called on all citizens to continue to support and pray for the security forces as they risk their lives in defending the nation.

Good and opposite statement. Also opposition alignment unlike APC that was in total support of Boko Haram during GEJ leadership in order to win election and get the people against PDP. PDP is really showing maturity in her opposition status,I see them returning to power in 2019 if APC keeps floundering !
PDP will never, ever return to power, never! It’s all politics- this newfound support for Buhari in his fight against Boko Haram. We wait to see their next move.
Mr. Steve, you are in the spirit. You have said all that I wanted to say about this article. And for Mr. John, are you God? Even the blind and the deaf knew already that majority of Nigerians are just waiting for 2019 to return PDP to lead the federal government! I know that most of those 15 million people that voted for Buhari are already regreting their decisions to throw former President Goodluck Jonathan out of office. How I wish we were patient with GEJ; Boko Haram would have become history by now! Well, such is life. Nigerians, especially the youths have learned their lessons and are wise now.
Mr. Krisol. Pls can u show us one developmental infrastructure done by the past administration. How much do u pay for rent, transport, power/generator etc. There is nothing to compete with the private sectors on the lifestyle of Nigerians by the government hence u get things more expensive all in the name of transformation. Well it is not all about party but individual view of consolidating the gestures shown to them in getting to the pinnacle of power. Pls everyone need to be patient as nobody can ever work on an empty stomach.
