Bolala Samuel, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Etikan ward one, Ilaje local government area of Ondo state, has joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his resignation letter seen by TheCable, Samuel said he took the decision based on the confidence he has in the administration of Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of the state.
He also complained about the leadership crisis rocking his former party.
“My resignation is due to the crisis lingering in the party at the national and state level,” he wrote.

“As a result of this, I have decided to join the moving train the moving train of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“My tent is now with the APC because I have confidence in the present administration led by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his Deputy, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, with the current step taken in the area of workers’ salary, appointments and infrastructures.
“I want to believe that Governor Akeredolu means well for the people of the state and I have to join him with my political supporters and well-wishers for acceleration of unprecedented and sustainable developments in the state.”

Earlier in the week, many lawmakers, including the speaker of the state assembly, defected to the ruling party.
A wave of defection hit the PDP after Akeredolu emerged winner of the governorship election.
Yele Omogunwa, a senator from the state, also dumped the PDP for APC, late last year.
