Douye Diri, governor of Bayelsa, and Ademola Adeleke, governor of Osun, have congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his victory at the supreme court.
Both governors are members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a unanimous decision on Thursday, the seven-member panel of the apex court dismissed the petitions of Peter Obi of Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenging Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 election.
Adeleke in a post on his X page said Osun state is committed to partnering with Tinubu to deliver good governance.

The election is billed for November 11.
Timipre Sylva, candidate of the APC in Bayelsa, has been disqualified from contesting the election by a court.

On October 10, a federal high court in Abuja held that Sylva, having been sworn in twice and ruled for five years as governor of the state, would breach the 1999 constitution if allowed to contest again.
Subsequently, the APC filed an appeal challenging the court’s decision and applied for a stay of execution of the judgment pending the outcome of the appeal.

In compliance with the ruling of the court, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday removed Sylva’s name from the list of candidates contesting the Bayelsa governorship election.
However, the APC has urged its supporters not to be deterred by the removal of Sylva as its Bayelsa governorship candidate, adding that they are on course to winning the election.
