The National Pension Commission (PenCom) says it is illegal for employers and companies to use touts and agents to obtain pension clearance certificates (PCC).

In a statement issued on Friday, the commission said the use of touts and agents is illegal and contrary to the provisions of section 104 (b) and (c) of the Pension Reform Act 2014.

PenCom said the issuance of PCC “is free of charge and the application process is also very easy and transparent”.

The agency urged employers to deal directly with it on matters relating to the application for the issuance of the PCC.
